Atonement
The ship’s plasma exhaust vented towards the ground, bringing the vessel slowly yet smoothly into the air. The rear exhaust fired upon completion of this manoeuvre, propelling the craft up and away, streaking away from the atmosphere seconds into the climb. He watched the departing ship until it was a mere speck high up in the heavens; his fate was now sure. This planetoid, orbiting a cold-looking blue-white star at a temperate distance, was covered in verdant jungle vegetation; that vegetation would almost certainly be the old hunter’s grave. Hundreds of years from now, oomans would know this place as planet LV-578 orb
